2008 RunWalk Logo

Each year, the Midland Community Center partners up with Dow High Schools Commercial Art with Printing Technology Class, taught by Carol Lewin. This year, the students were given direction to incorporate the “Building a Brighter Tomorrow with Helping Hands Today!” (the Midland Community Center’s campus renovation plan) into the design concept for the RunWalk.

This year, Dominique Spadacene, a Midland High School Senior, who travels to Dow High School each morning to participate in this specialized graphics design class, was chosen from an outstanding field of logo designs.

The Midland Community Center, along with McKay Press gives this class real world experience through the client/designer relationship. These students experience the process from start to finish as they get direction from the client (Midland Community Center), design the logo creations, present, re-work and then finally visit McKay Press to see the process come to life.
